Student Achievement Measure (SAM) Updated
The Student Achievement Measure (SAM) is a transparency initiative where higher education institutions track students across institutions to create a more complete picture of undergraduate student progress and completion within the higher education system. Each year, data is reported and updated on a specified fall cohort. SAM has over 600 participating institutions. The data displays 4-, 5-, and 6-year outcomes for Northeastern (and other participating institutions). So, why is SAM important? Usual measures of student progress and completion underreport student achievement because they do not account for the increasing mobility of students. Those interested are encouraged to further explore the SAM website, maybe look up your old alma mater! For questions about Northeastern’s SAM data, please reach out to Institutional Research at institutionalresearch@northeastern.edu.
