HERI Faculty Survey

HERI Faculty Survey is a triennial national survey directed by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA. The survey is designed to provide colleges and universities with comprehensive information on faculty experiences. It includes topics such as pedagogical practices, faculty goals and expectations for students, research and service activities, areas of satisfaction and improvement, sources of stress, and the connection between learning in the classroom and practices in the local and global community. Information resulting from this survey is used to facilitate assessment and accreditation activities, enhance faculty development programs, and improve students’ learning experiences.

The 2022-2023 HERI Faculty Survey is currently in the process of data collection. The 2019-2020 survey was conducted in the Spring of 2020. A total of 713 Northeastern full-time faculty members submitted responses, representing a 51.3% response rate.

Results for Northeastern faculty can be found in a newly built HERI Faculty Survey Tableau dashboard along with data available from the past three administrations since 2016. The dashboard is available to internal users only. To gain access, please contact surveys@northeastern.edu.
