Meet the Fall 2025 Freshman Class

Each summer, Northeastern surveys its incoming freshmen to better understand their perspectives, both on their high school experiences and their expectations for college, through either the national UCLA Higher Education Research Institute’s (HERI) Freshman Survey or our own in-house developed survey. Northeastern’s Fall 2025 cohort shows an ambitious and enthusiastic incoming class with 62% of respondents naming NU as their first choice and 99% believing Northeastern to have a strong reputation for academics and post-graduation opportunities. Although 32% indicated feeling overwhelmed and 29% reported experiencing anxiety, 82% earned A-level overall high school grades and most expect to maintain a 3.5–4.0 GPAs at Northeastern. 23% are attending as pre-med or pre-law students with over 80% planning on obtaining advanced degrees after graduation. Over 76% rated their drive to achieve to be higher than average.

These results showcase a class that is driven, ambitious, and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of their Northeastern journey.
