What’s In a Name?

Over the years, the growth in Northeastern’s Data and Analytics program has expanded the responsibilities of the Data Administration.  Adding new tools like Snowflake and Tableau, coupled with the emergence of AI, changes the way we think about managing, presenting, and providing access to data.

To reflect the new portfolio of responsibilities, Data Administration is changing its name to Data Governance, which better reflects our expanded strategic role in the Data and Analytics program.  Over the next few months, we will begin a soft launch by making changes to our SharePoint site and other assets, like our new mailto link:  DataGovernance@northeastern.edu. The name change will become official when the new University Decision Support site debuts this fall.
