Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Workday Finance*…but were afraid to ask
Now that we have almost a year of Workday Finance under our collective belts, you may find yourself thinking, It’s OK, but how do I:
• Request a modification to a report?
• Find a single invoice by its ID number?
• Get advance notice of new reports in the pipeline?
Luckily for you, the Workday Financial Reporting User Group is here to answer those questions and many more. Facilitated by Todd Mattuchio of the Data Governance team in University Decision Support, the group meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2 PM. Meetings include demonstrations of new reports that are in progress, discussions of proposed changes to existing reports, and presentations of Workday Tips & Tricks by Super Dave Conlon, Architect of the Foundation Data Model (FDM) and Master of the Crosswalk (both the Banner to Workday Finance and the one at 177 Huntington).
The Workday Financial User group held its first meeting on January 29th, 2026, just a little over six months since the launch of Workday Finance. The most recent February meeting showcased the following new reports:
• NUFIN Budget vs Actuals Summary by Cost Center Hierarchy
• NUFIN Gift Funds Spendable Balances Summary
• NUFIN Statement of Activity for Roll Forward Funds
• NUFIN Fund 16 Spendable Balance Summary
Along these new reports, the NUFIN Designation Balance, Actuals and Budget – Fund 15 – No Hierarchy was demonstrated. This is an older report with a new visual layout. This report is the direct result of feedback meeting attendees and designed to better meet their daily analytical needs.
The reporting team is working on other modifications to other older reports which will be shown at the upcoming March meeting. Such results truly show the importance of the user community’s participation in making these changes happen, and we encourage and welcome anyone using Workday Finance to attend these meetings. Just send Todd a Teams message or an email and ask to be added to the group. Meeting notices are posted in the channel, so keep your notifications on to receive the latest updates.
